Stockings are one of my favorite parts of holiday decor.
I especially love the little treats that come inside them on Christmas morning!
Unfortunately, stockings are SO expensive!
To pay more than $10 per stocking, for a family of 4, would be upwards of $50!
That is crazy.
I love the look of knitted stockings (they have some really cute ones at Target, and World Market),
but again, there was no way I was going to dish out the cash for them.
So I thought, why not make them myself?
I can’t knit, but I sure can crochet!
I couldn’t find any good crochet stocking patterns on the web, so I made my own!
My pattern contains instructions for 2 different sizes, Adult and Child.
Now, I can easily whip up another stocking as our family grows, without breaking the bank.
Each stocking took about 2 skiens of super bulky yarn.
I used Lion Brand’s Hometown USA yarn which can be bought at Walmart or any other fabric and craft store.
I was expecting a little scoffing from Curtis when I showed him the first completed stocking,
but he actually approved and thought it looked nice!
Although, I think he is secretly worried that one day he’ll come home and everything in our house will be crocheted…
floor mats, bed spreads, dish clothes, couch covers, toilet seat covers….
As always, email me with any questions!
