Crochet Quilt and Hat Set

I am a bit of a procrastinator. That is why I spent the last 3 days crocheting like a fiend even though I could have started this project weeks (ok, months) ago.
A co-worker of my mom’s is having a baby shower this weekend. My mom asked if I would make her a blanket. She told me this in May or June. And, well….I just started working on it this past Monday.
My hands are now crampy, and the blanket is more of a “play mat” because it is a little smaller than I intended. However, I do still L.O.V.E. the way it turned out!
I crocheted 9 squares in 3 different colors. I whip stitched the blocks together with opposing thread and then made a ruffly border with that same color. I also made a little Teddy Bear beanie with this awesome hempy colored yarn that I love.

(The purple background are my bed sheets…love!)

What do you think?

I am thinking of creating my first crochet patterns soon and thought I might make a pattern for a blanket like this. I just don’t know if anybody is interested.
Do I have any crochet savvy readers out there who would like me to make patterns?
